How to correctly import tracking numbers to AfterShip from your store?

Below are some ways through which AfterShip users can better control how tracking numbers are added to their AfterShip account.

Adding tracking numbers for a specific courier

For most stores, when a tracking number is added to an order, AfterShip auto detects the courier based on the tracking number format and the active courier list in the user's AfterShip account.

However, if a user wants to assign a tracking number to a specific courier, they can add it by entering the tracking number in this format:

courierSlug#trackingNumber

For example: 

dpd#04569400023091U 

This tracking number will be imported as courier DPD and will ignore the AfterShip courier auto detect.

Adding tracking numbers for couriers that require additional parameters

Some couriers, in addition to the tracking numbers, require extra parameters to get the tracking results.

They can be added in this format:

trackingNumber:requiredParameter

or

courierSlug#trackingNumber:requiredParameter

Some such couriers are listed below:

	slug: postnl-3s
	required parameters: tracking_destination_country, tracking_postal_code
	sample tracking number:   CD707008810NL:AUS:7000
	slug: postnl  
        required parameters:   tracking_postal_code  
        sample tracking number:   3STNDH0017348:2935VV
	slug: deutsch-post  
        required parameters:   tracking_ship_date

        required parameters:   tracking_account_number, tracking_key

What is a courier slug?

The courier slug is a unique identifier for a courier in AfterShip. 

Courier slugs for AfterShip supported couriers can be found here:  https://www.aftership.com/courier

Select the courier and the courier slug will appear in the URL

For example, the courier slug for DPD UK is dpd-uk (case sensitive).
