How to connect your USPS account



Find the steps to generate the UserID for usps-api in AfterShip Tracking below:

Visit https://registration.shippingapis.com/ to register for the USPS Web Tools
Submit all the required information on the registration page
Click Submit


After registration, you will receive a confirmation email on the same page


Additionally, you'll receive an email from the sender ID registration@shippingapis.com containing essential details, including your Username and Password.




After completing registration, ensure your User ID is enabled by USPS for tracking purposes.

Follow the link provided in the registration email (https://usps.my.site.com/emailus/s/web-tools-inquiry) to get TrackV2 permissions.
Request Tracking API/TrackV2 access and provide the requested information, including:

Web Tools USER ID:
Mailer ID:
Company Name:
Company Website:
Requester First and Last Name:
Requester Email:
Requester Phone number:
Mailing Address:
Mailing City:
Mailing State:
Mailing Zip Code:
PROD Registration Date:
API access requested: Package Tracking (API=TrackV2)
Anticipated volume (daily, weekly, monthly, or annually):
Are you shipping with USPS? Please describe.
Any additional information:

Entering all this information will create a “Service Request” for Tracking API/TrackV2 Approval.

If you don't already have a Mailer ID (MID), follow the links below to sign up for one:

https://postalpro.usps.com/mailing/mailer-id

You can also send an email to delivery.confirmation@usps.gov in case any additional assistance is required.

Once you submit all the required information, the Web Tools Team will send the Service Request for approval and will grant TrackV2 permissions if approved.
