Set up a Custom Domain for the Branded Tracking Page
Plans: Premium, Enterprise Platforms: All platforms
AfterShip enables you to create a custom domain for the branded tracking page to enhance brand visibility and increase post-purchase customer engagement.
You can use your own custom URL (for example: http://track.yourdomain.com/ or any URL of your choice) to display the tracking information instead of using the default AfterShip-hosted tracking page URL ( http://username.aftership.com/tracking_number).
SSL certificate is mandatory due to the Cloudflare policy. If you are setting up a custom domain for your branded tracking page, your SSL certificate will be set up and installed from our end once your CNAME is verified for domain security.
SSL certificate keeps user data secure, verifies ownership of the website, prevents attackers from creating a fake version of the site, and gains user trust.
There are many DNS providers available that can help store owners to register/rent a particular domain. For example. GoDaddy, Domain.com, Bluehost, etc. Shopify provides a custom domain to its users by default.
Log in to your DNS provider, and create a CNAME.
Generate a hostname or subdomain ( For example: track.yourdomain.com)
Enter domains.aftership.com as destination URL.
These steps may vary depending on DNS provider user interface.
Go to Tracking pages in the AfterShip Tracking admin.
Navigate to URLs and domains > Universal URLs.
Click on Set up custom domain
Enter the custom domain (For example: track.yourdomain.com) in the field and hit Set up
Once you save the CNAME, it can take up to 24 hours for it to propagate and properly point to AfterShip. You can also insert this URL to the track button code of your store page.
