Set up a Custom Domain for the Branded Tracking Page

AfterShip enables you to create a custom domain for the branded tracking page to enhance brand visibility and increase post-purchase customer engagement.

Note that enabling SSL is mandatory due to the new Cloudflare policy. So, if you are already using a custom domain, make sure the SSL is activated at your end as well for uninterrupted and delightful experience.
💭 How does a custom domain work?

Use your own custom URL (for example http://track.yourdomain.com/tracking_number) to display the tracking information instead of using  http://username.aftership.com/tracking_number

💻 Select a domain provider

There are many DNS providers available that can help store owners to register/rent a particular domain. For example. GoDaddy, Domain.com, Bluehost, etc. Shopify provides a custom domain to its users by default.

💻 Create CNAME entry

Login to your DNS provider, and create a CNAME
Generate a hostname or subdomain (For example, track.yourdomain.com)
Enter domains.aftership.com as destination URL

These steps may vary depending on DNS provider user interface

🔧 Edit AfterShip brand settings

Go to Tracking pages section of your AfterShip account > Look for the Add tracking page to navigation section

Enter the custom domain (For example, track.yourdomain.com) within the Tracking Page field

It takes around 24 hours for the changes to take effect. You can also insert this URL to the track button code of your store page.
