Overview
AfterShip Tracking offers a customer-centric solution, allowing your customers to opt-in for real-time order and shipment updates via Email, SMS and Facebook Messenger. This proactive feature enhances your customers’ experience by providing timely information, empowering them to easily track the progress of their orders.
How to enable delivery notifications subscription
Plans: All Plans
Log in to your AfterShip Tracking admin dashboard.
Go to Tracking pages > Page variations.
Select the page for which you want to enable the delivery subscription.
Click Edit.
In the editor, select Sections.
Click Add section in the left panel.
Select Subscription.
You can add a subscription using three methods:
In the tracking page editor, click Compact tracking info under the Tracking updates section and select Subscribe to notifications.
In the tracking page editor, click Add section and select Subscription.
In the tracking page editor, click Add sections > Custom section > Subscription.
Each method serves the same purpose of sending your customers real-time order and shipment updates via Email, SMS and Facebook Messenger. The only difference is how all these methods offer you greater flexibility to embed them in places where you feel customers are most likely to interact with them better, both on desktop and mobile, enhancing the overall customer experience.
How to select a provider to send delivery notifications
Before enabling the delivery notifications subscription, you need to select a service provider to send notifications. You can opt for the AfterShip in-house notifications system, or seamlessly integrate with another Email/SMS provider of your choice.
Send notifications via AfterShip
In the AfterShip Tracking page editor, go to Subscription.
Go to Notification service provider.
Click Manage subscriber notifications under AfterShip.
Enable or disable the Email, SMS, and Facebook notifications according to your preferences by sliding the toggle button for the available tracking statuses.
Once the Email, SMS, and Facebook notifications are activated for the different key tracking statuses, move to the Subscription methods and select the checkbox for the methods via which you would like to send customers the tracking notifications.
Activating the notifications based on
tracking statuseswill not send customers the notifications through that subscription method unless you select the said method underSubscription methods.Click Edit to customize the Email or SMS templates. You will be directed to the notifications editor to customize template as you deem fit.
Once done, click Save.
Send notifications via Third-party email/SMS provider
Integrate your third-party application with the AfterShip Tracking API or Webhook. By doing so, you can retrieve subscribers' phone numbers and email addresses from your integrated app and use them to send notifications.
Once done, integrate your app with the AfterShip Tracking API or Webhook and complete the test.

Once done, select a subscription method
Click Save.
How to customize the subscription section
In the AfterShip Tracking page editor, select Subscription.
Go to Subscribe to notifications.
Edit the content under Title and Button according to your preference.
Edit the content for the Title and Button under the Subscribe pop-up according to your preference.
For the custom subscription section, the option to edit the Subscribe pop-up content is not available since the UI allows the customer to opt for the preferred method of subscription directly.
How to enable SMS marketing opt-in

AfterShip provides retailers with the ability to provide their customers with the option to sign up for marketing communications with the SMS Marketing Opt-in component.
With SMS Marketing Opt-in enabled on the tracking page, customers can elect to sign up for marketing communications to hear from your brand directly from their tracking page. Decrease your average customer acquisition cost and increase customer lifetime value with SMS Marketing notifications.
In order to enable SMS Marketing opt-in, you will be required to integrate with Attentive. AfterShip supports Attentive Marketing opt-in as of now. Follow these steps to set up your integration:
Contact AfterShip support or your dedicated Customer Success Manager and provide Legal disclosure language with URLs for Terms & Privacy with AfterShip.
The AfterShip team will provide you with the design for the SMS Marketing opt-in. This Design is required to complete the next step.
Request unique
SignUpSourceIDfrom your Customer Success Manager at Attentive, which is required in Attentive’s subscriber API call for AfterShip to integrate.Please note that according to the Attentive website, you are required to send the design for SMS marketing opt-in to the dedicated Attentive Customer Success Manager or White Glove team for review before requesting a
SignUpSourceID. After the design is reviewed, the Attentive Customer Success Manager will share the uniqueSignUpSourceIDwith you. See details here.Once done, contact AfterShip Support or your dedicated Customer Success Manager, and you will be provided with an integration link to enable the feature.
Important information
Attentive allows single
SignUpSourceIDper region. If you target multiple regions for SMS Marketing opt-in, please requestSignUpSourceIDfor all regions.Attentive requires double opt-in for Marketing SMS. Which means the opt-in is not finished after the consumer opts-in to the tracking Page marketing SMS opt-in.
The consumer must also respond "Y” to the SMS message that Attentive sends to complete the opt-in.
Once the setup with Attentive is completed, go to the AfterShip Tracking admin dashboard.
Select Tracking Pages > Page variations.
Select the tracking page in which you want to enable SMS Marketing opt-in.
Click Edit.
In the tracking page editor, go to Subscription.
Go to Subscription methods.
Enable Marketing opt-in under SMS.
