AfterShip provides insurance services from third-party insurance companies, i.e. InsureShield.
AfterShip Protection is currently only open to business entities based in the USA.

⚠️ Install Protection requires the merchant to modify Magento-2’s code on the server side.
Install Protection widget on your Magento-2 store would require 3 simple steps.

In order to let consumers track tracking and the protection status easily, we have provided an ‘Order tracking’ block on the order confirmation page.
If the order has bought Protection, we’ll show the protection sign, otherwise, we’ll not show the protection sign.

Overview
Because AfterShip Protection is a product in your eCommerce store, when the coupon you created does not exclude AfterShip Protection product, then the protection product would be discounted, and your consumers will pay less for the premium fee.
In this case, you’ll still need to transfer us the premium fee before discount. In order to prevent the unnecessary loss of you, if you’ll create coupon for your store, we may need you to exclude the AfterShip Protection product.

Overview
The coverage status shows the progress of a coverage. The coverage status shows whether the coverage is being charged or claimed or not.

Before the order is shipped(fulfilled), you can refund the Protection product as consumers need.
And if you refund before the order is in ‘fulfilled’ status, AfterShip Protection will not charge you for the premiums of the order, and the coverage will become ‘Void’ status.
You can operate the refund action via your E-commerce store platform, e,g Shopify, Woo,Commerce, etc.

To buy protection coverage would need to follow the limitations from the insurance company, limitations:
Insured value limitation per order:
Order value less than $10,000 and larger than $10.
Commodities that are not included:

Overview
If consumers don’t buy protection for orders that have high risk (high value), merchants can buy protection for the order. Merchants would need to cover the protection cost themselves.
We support merchants to buy protection from the admin UI or via CSV import.
