Overview



TikTok has become a major platform for merchants looking to drive sales through TikTok Shop. Merchants utilize video content, live streaming, and the Shop Shelf feature to generate Gross Merchandise Value (GMV). Shoppable videos, among these, are the most effective strategy, accounting for 70% of the total GMV.

Over the years, affiliate marketing has become the most approached method by merchants to boost sales. Merchants identify and work with creators who produce shoppable videos featuring their products. Typically, merchants provide free product samples to creators in exchange for the videos promoting their products. When a creator successfully sells a product through their videos, they earn a commission from the merchants, which is decided before the collaboration.

For merchants, the key to success is identifying the right creators and building long-term partnerships that maximize sales. Affiliates are crucial in helping merchants connect with the right creators and effectively manage these relationships for future collaborations.

AfterShip Feed’s TikTok Affiliates feature helps merchants find talented creators who create exceptional promotional content, effectively build partnerships with them, track performance, and maximize sales through the TikTok platform.

How AfterShip Feed’s Affiliates feature can benefit merchants?

Important considerations



The Affiliates module is available exclusively to existing AfterShip Feed users with a TikTok Shop in the US region.
Starting December 9th, the Affiliates feature will be offered for Free to a select group of whitelisted customers for a 1-month trial.
After the trial period, access to the Affiliates feature will be available to users on the AfterShip Feed Growth and Enterprise plans.

Key modules of AfterShip Feed TikTok Affiliates platform



AfterShip Feed TikTok Affiliates platform offers four main modules to help merchants collaborate effectively with creators:

1. Find creators



The platform gives merchants access to a network of over 2 million creators who can produce Shoppable videos. Merchants can view detailed profiles for each creator, including:

Average video viewsThe average number of views each video receives.
Engagement rateThe level of audience engagement with the creator's content. The total video engagements (likes, shares, and comments) divided by the total views averaged across all videos in the past 30 days.
GMV (Gross Merchandise Value)Total value of merchandise sold by the creator via videos or LIVEs in the past 30 days.

The aforementioned data metrics help merchants assess whether a creator fits their brand’s target audience and connect with them via email or targeted collaboration.
For small to medium-sized merchants, we recommend focusing on creators with 1,000 to 20,000 followers and an engagement rate above 2%.

Find creators

Merchants can easily connect with these creators through email. Once a creator is added to the My creators list, their contact information, including email, will be available.
Merchants can find creators they know or are interested in with a simple search of their TikTok account (handle) name or nickname in the search bar.
Merchants can narrow down their search with additional filters at their disposal including, categories of their shoppable videos, custom tags, follower count, follower gender, follower age, and GMV.
You can also exclude creators that are already added to your preferred list ( My creators) from the search results to focus on creators you've yet to collaborate with.
Merchants can add creators they are interested in and would like to collaborate with to My creators list by clicking the Add to My creators button.

A complete snapshot of the creator’s TikTok journey (metrics) will be shown when you click on a particular creator’s name. The overview allows you to see the track performance of the creators over the years and make a calculated decision about whether or not they are a perfect fit for your brand affiliation.

2. Manage creators



The Manage creators section is divided into two sections— My creators and Blocklist.

My creators include the creators you've previously worked with. Here, you can add creators either by using the 'Find Creators' module or by importing a CSV file. Once added, you can manage their details, such as contact information (email, SMS, address), and create custom fields to better organize the data according to your needs. Rest assured, all contact information remains private and is not publicly accessible.

The Blocklist is where you can add creators from the My creators section you'd prefer not to work with again. Creators in the Blocklist will automatically be excluded from any email campaigns or targeted collaboration invites, ensuring they won’t appear as options for future partnerships.

3. Email outreach



In the Email outreach module, merchants can send bulk emails to creators with verified email addresses, inviting them to create shoppable videos for their products. However, before sending any invitations, merchants must ensure their email addresses are verified on the platform. Using this feature, merchants can send branded emails to a large number of creators, streamlining the process of initiating collaboration.

4. Targeted collaboration



Once a creator agrees to collaborate, you can begin a targeted collaboration where you define the product commission. If the commission is set at $4 or more per product, it will likely be more attractive to creators, encouraging them to produce shoppable videos.

The process for initiating a targeted collaboration follows a simple and familiar process that mirrors TikTok’s own collaboration flow. This ensures a smooth and efficient partnership with creators.

Supported plans



Whitelist access: Starting December 9th, only selected customers (whitelisted merchants) will have access to the Affiliates feature.
Free Trial: These whitelisted customers will have access to the feature for free for one month.
Post-Trial: After the free trial ends, access to the Affiliates feature will be available only for AfterShip Feed Growth and higher-tier plans.
