Print Order Packing Slips

Overview



A packing slip is an essential document that accompanies a shipment. It contains the list of all the items in the shipment, providing vital information for both the sender and the recipient. A packing slip includes SKU numbers, product description(name), and the number of units that are used by shipping departments to determine what inventory needs to be sent out to accurately complete an order. Additionally, the customer can check the packing slip against the items they receive to ensure that everything is correct.

AfterShip Shipping supports printing packing slips for the orders Awaiting shipment. The following information is displayed on the packing slips generated via AfterShip Shipping.

Order created date
Order number
Ship-from location
Ship-to location
Item (in the package) description (Title/name)
Item SKU
Item quantity (units)
Brand logo (additional setup required)
Barcode (additional setup required)

Print packing slips



Go to Awaiting shipment dashboard in your AfterShip Shipping admin.
Choose any order for which you want to print a packing slip for.
On the order shipping details side panel, verify the shipping information as your Ship-from location, from where the package will be shipped will be printed on the packing slip. If you wish to modify the shipping information, you can edit it on this window. To add additional Ship-from locations to include in your packing slips and shipping labels, refer to the guide.
You can also edit the item information in the package under the Items tab.
You can review and edit, if required, the destination where the package will be delivered ( Ship-to) location under the Recipient tab.

Click Save to save all the changes before printing the packing slip.
To print packing slip and the shipping label on the same window, scroll down to Print packing slip. Click on it to open the preview window of the packing slip generated. Simultaneously, you can Create label for the package.
Alternatively, if you wish to print packing slip after label generation, select an order directly on the Awaiting shipment dashboard, click More actions and select Print packing slip.

Print the packing slip to include it in the package.

You can also print packing slips in bulk. Select the orders > More actions > Print packing slip.

On the packing slip preview window, you will see the packing slips for all the selected orders generated at once.

Auto-generate packing slip for AfterShip Create a Label API



For merchants using AfterShip Shipping Create a Label API , they can automatically generate packing slip along with a shipping label with a simple setup.

Go to the AfterShip Shipping Settings > Document options
Move the toggle to the right to automatically generate packing slips along with the shipping labels.
You can also select if you want to print the packing slip for all carrier accounts or only specific carrier accounts.
You can choose to include barcode on the packing slip to increase warehouse handling efficiency.

Add brand logo to packing slips



If you want to include your brand log in your packing slip, you can upload your logo also in the AfterShip Shipping > Settings > Document options

Upload your brand logo in the recommended size under Logo section and save the settings.
Test printing a packing slip to see if the logo is appearing on your packing slips.
