Learn how to setup carrier shipper account, and enter carrier integration credentials at AfterShip Shipping before you can calculate rates or print shipping labels. Unlike using AfterShip Shipping shipper account, you need to open a shipper account and sign contracts with carrier. AfterShip Shipping will only charge you for the 1¢ fee per label, carrier will bill you directly for the cost of the shipment. If you're looking for easy shipping solution, check out the guide to setup AfterShip Shipping shipper account.
Login to your AfterShip Shipping account
Select Sandbox or Production > Shipper Accounts > You Shipper Account
Select carrier, then enter carrier integration credentials, and shipper account address
AfterShip Shipping Sandbox environment is a testing environment for users to test the carrier integration before moving to production. Any labels generated at Sandbox environment will be only for testing and cannot be used for actual shipping, and of course you won't be charged either. Most carriers provide both testing credentials and production credentials, and you can enter them separately at AfterShip Shipping.
Some users actually go straight to production as many carriers (e.g. UPS) do not charge for the production labels printed as long as it is shipped. Those carriers will only charge when shipment is picked up and scanned.
Some carriers like DHL or FedEx require users to print out testing labels for verification before they can provide production credentials or enable label printing function for production credentials.
