Add “Track Order With AfterShip” Button to the Shopify Order Confirmation Page

Overview
Keeping a tab over orders is important for shoppers, especially when they want to give a gift to their loved ones or when there’s an urgency.
AfterShip facilitates order tracking to let shoppers have a pleasant post-purchase experience. You can even add the order tracking button on the order confirmation page.
Important note (Shopify Update):
Shopify is phasing outcheckout.liquid. Your “Track with AfterShip” button is currently still supported, as long as you don’t disable it. AfterShip is expected to provide an updated solution for Shopify’s new checkout extensibility soon.
What this means for you
a. If your store is still using checkout.liquid, the AfterShip button works normally.
b. Once Shopify fully removes checkout.liquid, this method may stop working.
c. If you disable the AfterShip button now, you may not be able to re-enable it the same way later.
d. Future support will depend on Shopify’s Checkout Extensibility and AfterShip’s upcoming update.
Recommendation
Before removing the button,
a. Consider whether you might need it again later.
b. If removed, you need to wait for AfterShip’s updated integration if you’re planning major checkout changes.
Insert the Track order with AfterShip button
- Go to your Shopify store’s settings > Look for the Checkout option
- Scroll down to Customer contact method
- Uncheck Show a link for customers to track their order with Shop

- Click Save to let your changes come into effect.
Turn on branded tracking on AfterShip Tracking
- Log in to your AfterShip Tracking account.
- Go to Tracking app and turn on the toggle button to insert the “Track order with AfterShip” Button to the Shopify Order Confirmation Page.
