Enable Post-Purchase Carrier Estimated Delivery Dates
Plans: All plans Platforms: All platforms
Most carriers provide an estimated delivery date (EDD) once tracking is created, which AfterShip Tracking uses as one of your post-purchase EDD sources to communicate to customers.
Go to Estimated Delivery Dates (EDD) > Post-purchase EDD in your AfterShip Tracking account.
Scroll down to the Carrier EDD option and click Enable to activate the carrier-based EDD for your shipments.
Click Manage to open the Carrier EDD setup portal.
Choose your preferred date format: You get two options.
Single date: This will display a single estimated delivery date to your customers.
Date range: This option will show a range of possible delivery dates, if available from the carrier.
If a carrier only provides a single date, that date will be shown, and it will not be converted into a range.
Disable EDD for specific carriers
You can choose to disable the EDD for specific carriers, ensuring that only the EDD from the remaining carriers is displayed. Simply select the carriers from the list of activated carriers in your account. The selected carriers will display under the disabled carriers.
If you wish to undo this change, you can simply delete the selected carrier from the configuration.
For a list of carriers that support the EDD date range, refer to this document: Carrier Support for EDD Date Range.
Source priority determines the order in which EDD sources are used. When showing an EDD, AfterShip will always pick the first available source from the list based on its priority.
You can adjust the priority of these sources by dragging them up or down in the list. The source at the top will have the highest priority, and the one at the bottom will have the lowest priority.
A Custom Estimated Delivery Date can always be calculated, even if it is placed lower in the priority list. This means that any sources ranked below the custom EDD will be ignored if a custom EDD is available, ensuring it is the one displayed.
