Plans : All plans Platforms : All platforms
The Shipment progress bar enables customers to track the real-time progress of their shipments directly from the email notifications. By activating a dynamic progress bar in your email communications, customers can quickly view the current delivery status of their orders, improving customer experience by providing clarity on shipment progress, including estimated delivery and delivered dates.
To set up the Shipment Progress Bar in your emails, follow these steps:
Navigate to Notifications > Flows in your AfterShip Tracking
Select a Flow. Click {...} icon > Edit to access the flow editor.
On the Flow editor, click on Send email card to access the Email editor. You can add the progress bar in any email template that supports shipment updates and estimated delivery date.
If you wish to switch the email editor, select the desired option from the editor dropdown at the top.
Go to the Content section and click + Add section. Select Shipment progress bar
Configure the display information.
Dynamic progress bar: The progress bar will update each time the recipient opens the email, showing the most current delivery status.
Static progress bar: The status shown in the email will remain unchanged after the email is sent. Meaning the no matter when the recipient opens the email, it will remain to the status when the email was triggered.
Example
An Info received email is triggered on Dec 1st.
On Dec 2nd, the shipment status is updated to In-transit.
If the Dynamic progress bar option is selected.
On Dec 1: When you first open the email, the progress bar will display Info received, reflecting the status at the time the email was triggered.
On Dec 2: If you check the email again after the status update, the progress bar will dynamically update to show In-transit, reflecting the latest shipment status at the time you open the email. The progress bar updates in real-time as the status changes.
If the Static progress bar option is selected.
No matter when you check the email (whether on Dec 1st or Dec 2nd), the progress bar will always show Info received, because the status in the email is fixed at the time the email was sent and does not update. The progress bar does not change after the email is delivered, even if the shipment status is updated later.
Configure text for the primary information supported for the shipment progress bar.
Delivery date: The date the shipment is delivered. This will only display if the delivery date is provided.
Estimated delivery date: Displays the anticipated delivery date if the shipment is not yet delivered. If an EDD is unavailable, the left section will be hidden.
Select the color of the section and the associated elements including,
Container background: The background color of the section that contains the progress bar and related content.
Container border: The border around the shipment progress bar section, defining its edges.
Progress bar status: The color of the bar indicating the current stage of the shipment's progress (e.g., in transit, delivered).
Progress bar background: The empty portion of the progress bar, showing the uncompleted part of the shipment's journey.
Section background: The overall background color of the section containing the progress bar, providing contrast to the shipment bar container content.
Configure the visibility settings by selecting which devices this section will show on.
Define the top and the bottom padding of the section to make it more prominent.
Save the settings.
Drag-and-drop the section into the desired position in your email.
