Coverage Status Definitions

AfterShip Protection utilizes 6 distinct coverage statuses, each serving a unique purpose:

Status ______Description
InactiveWhen a coverage is created without a tracking number, its status is set to 'Inactive'. In this status, if the customer requests a refund for the order, AfterShip Protection will not charge premiums and the Protection can be refunded.
ActiveWhen a coverage is updated with a tracking number, its status changes to 'Active', allowing customers to file a claim. Once the coverage is active, premiums cannot be refunded.
ClaimedThe status of a coverage when a claim has been filed.
VoidIf a customer pays for an order with Protection but wishes to refund the entire order or only the Protection service before shipment, the coverage status becomes 'Void'. AfterShip Protection will not charge premiums for coverages in this status. The Protection product can be refunded through the E-commerce platform, and the coverage status will be marked as 'Void'.
ExpiredWhen an active coverage does not file a claim for 90 days, it will expire.
InvalidIf an order with Protection is not shipped within 90 days, the coverage status will be set to 'Invalid'. In this status, the coverage cannot be activated, and no premiums will be charged for this coverage.
