Introduction

Q&A: Will changing the configuration on this page affect inventory level on TikTok Shop?

Q&A: What are the calculation rules of Quantity?

Q&A: What are the calculation rules of Out-of-stock threshold?

Q&A: How dose Warehouse locations work?

Q&A: How does it work when combining all these settings together?

Q&A: How does ‘continue selling when out of stock’ work?

Introduction

We provide two methods to prevent the events of overselling.

You can configure the Quantity, which represents a percentage of your eCommerce platform's available inventory, to be synchronized with TikTok Shop and set the Out-of-stock threshold.

You can Apply the Continue selling when out of stock setting from {eCommerce_platform} to override the threshold value and showcase the product quantity as 99,999 (TikTok Shop's inventory limit is 99999). You must enable Continue selling when out of stock in your eCommerce platform for the option to function properly.

Not available for Amazon and Wix.

You have the option to Choose specific locations for inventory (Shopify only) synchronization and calculation from your various warehouse locations to TikTok Shop.

Navigate to Settings > Channel settings in the AfterShip Feed admin

Enable Inventory Sync. Configure the settings as required and save the changes.

Will changing the configuration on this page affect the inventory level on TikTok Shop?

Yes, any changes made on this page will trigger an immediate inventory synchronization of all products that have already been synced to TikTok Shop, aligning them with the latest settings to maintain consistency between your eCommerce platform and TikTok Shop. This process may take some time depending on the number of your items. During this time, you cannot make any further changes to the configuration, so please be careful before clicking Save.

How does the calculation of Quantity work?

AfterShip Feed uses the Quantity percentage to synchronize your eCommerce inventory with TikTok Shop. For example, if your eCommerce inventory is 100, and you've set the Quantity percentage to 80%, the synchronized inventory on TikTok Shop will be 80.

How does the calculation of Out-of-stock threshold work?

The Out-of-Stock threshold is a valuable tool for maintaining inventory control between platforms and avoiding over-sales. When your eCommerce inventory falls at or below the threshold value, AfterShip Feed will synchronize the inventory as 0 on TikTok Shop.

For instance, if your eCommerce inventory is 10, and the Low quantity threshold is set to 10, the synchronized inventory on TikTok Shop will be 0.

How does the warehouse location feature work?

Only supported for Shopify users.

The warehouse location feature is designed to facilitate the management of multiple warehouses. It enables you to specify which warehouse inventories are synchronized with TikTok. It's important to note that this configuration applies to all products and cannot be tailored to individual products.

For example, if a merchant has three shipping locations: A, B, and C, with inventories of 10, 20, and 30 respectively, selecting A and C as warehouse locations on this page will result in a synchronized inventory of 40 on TikTok Shop.

How does it work when combining all these settings?

To calculate the synchronized inventory, the process combines the Warehouse Locations, checks if it's below or equal to the Out-of-stock threshold, and if so, synchronizes 0 to TikTok Shop. If not, it calculates the final inventory using the Quantity Percentage. It's important to note that these inventory settings are optional; if not configured, they won't be factored into the calculation.

For example, let's consider a merchant with three shipping locations: A, B, and C, with inventories of 10, 20, and 30, respectively:

How does ‘continue selling when out of stock’ work?

When the Continue selling when out of stock is enabled in your AfterShip Feed admin and you have variants or products marked as Continue selling when out of stock on your eCommerce store, all your defined inventory settings within AfterShip Feed will become inapplicable. Instead, AfterShip Feed will synchronize the inventory directly as 99,999 to TikTok (TikTok Shop's inventory limit is 99,999).
