Split and Combine Packages for TikTok Shop Orders: TikTok Shipping

As a merchant, I can split multiple items in one order into multiple packages for delivery and likewise combine multiple orders into one package for fulfillment and delivery. Based on orders split and combined from TikTok Shop or your eCommerce platform, the same will be synced across platforms via AfterShip Feed.
This article will take you through how the order splitting and combining work on the TikTok shop and eCommerce platform if you have opted for shipping by platform on the TikTok Shop. Here we are taking Shopify as an example.
Splitting orders means dividing multiple items in a single order into multiple packages for shipping
Combining orders means putting multiple orders together in one package for delivery

TikTok Shipping orders can only be fulfilled on the TikTok Shop Seller Center. If you wish to fulfill orders following your current process on your eCommerce platform, please set the TikTok shipping option to Seller Shipping (Shipped by Seller). Learn how >
a. Split orders
Go to Orders > Manage orders in your TikTok Shop Seller Center
Move to the To Ship tab. Select Awaiting shipment order status
Select an order with multiple items. You can see the number of items in a particular order against the order number
Click the downward arrow that will appear when you click the extreme right of the order details column and select Split order
On the side panel, the order details, including the package and items, will be given. Click on Move to another package, select + Create another package
The newly created package (Package 2) will be auto-selected. Input the number of items to move to the package. Click Confirm
The order will be split into the number of packages you created with each package displaying the item(s) it has.
b. Fulfill packages
On the Manage Orders dashboard, you can see the order divided into separate packages waiting to be shipped with the tag Split shipment
To fulfill packages, click Create label. Select the package you want to create a label for and click Continue
Proceed to buy the shipping label for the package
Once the label is created, retrieve the tracking information of the package
c. Verify order sync to Shopify in AfterShip Feed
On the AfterShip Feed Orders dashboard, you will see the TikTok Shop order ID along with the Shopify order number. The TTS order status will continue to show Awaiting packing unless the other package in the order is fulfilled.
Once the other (all) packages in the order are fulfilled (label created) in TikTok Shop, the same will be synced to AfterShip Feed with the TTS order status updated to Awaiting collection on both platforms and sync status updated to order synced and fulfillment synced to indicate the order sync across platforms.
d. Order sync to Shopify
The order fulfillment will be synced to Shopify with the order details page showcasing all the packages in the order created and fulfilled on TikTok Shop along with the tracking numbers and the items each package has.
Under the Notes section, you can see the original TikTok Shop order number
a. Combine orders
Go to Orders > Manage orders in your TikTok Shop Seller Center
Move to the To Ship tab. Select Awaiting shipment order status
Select orders you want to combine. Click on Create label appearing on the bottom panel
A new popup will appear confirming if you want the selected orders to combine. If yes, click Combine orders and continue
c. Fulfill combined order
Upon clicking Combine orders and continue, you will be asked to buy the shipping label for the order for shipping and delivery
Click Buy 1 shipping label for the combined order
Once the label is created, check and retrieve the tracking information of the package
The combined orders will have the tag Combined shipment with the same tracking number under the Shipping method tab.
c. Verify order sync to Shopify in AfterShip Feed
On the AfterShip Feed Orders dashboard, you will see the TikTok Shop order IDs of the combined orders along with the order and fulfillment status updated to synced to indicate the order sync across platforms.
d. Order sync to Shopify
AfterShip Feed syncs the tracking number to the corresponding Shopify orders and updates the order status.
You can check the corresponding Shopify orders and find that the orders are both indeed fulfilled.
Since orders shipped by TikTok Shop need to be shipped on the TikTok Seller Center, we do not recommend splitting and combining your orders from the eCommerce store.

1. Split orders on the TikTok Shop
a. Split orders
Go to Orders > Manage orders in your TikTok Shop Seller Center
