How to Show AI-Predicted Estimated Delivery Dates on Product and Checkout Pages

Cart abandonment usually happens when there’s no clarity over the delivery time. Therefore, it gets important for businesses to share an estimated delivery date to keep shoppers interested. With AfterShip, you can show AI-predicted estimated delivery dates on product and checkout pages of your Shopify store. And this guide tells you the steps you need to follow.
In this tutorial, we’ll discuss:
How to set up the AEDD feature
Product page EDD editor setting
Checkout page EDD editor setting
Log in to your AfterShip account > Under ADD-ONs, select Estimated delivery date
Go to Shipment settings > Configure the settings for Warehouse and Shipping rules

Click Add location and finish the 2 steps mentioned below:
Set a unified warehouse location
Set order cutoff and processing time for each warehouse

It comprises of 2 types of shipping rules:
Location-based shipping rules (Mandatory) - These rules indicate how the EDD will be calculated based on customers’ location.
Click Add rule to open the setting page and set up a default rule.

Points to keep in mind:
This rule will be effective for all shipping zones by default.
It will only be applicable when a customer’s country/region doesn’t match any other rules.
You need to choose a shipping method that might be shown on the Product page.
You should choose a Slug and Service type that match with the shipping method.
Click And button on the right side to set up multiple shipping methods for the default rule.
If there are multiple shipping methods in a rule, you need to choose one of them to show on the Product page (Currently, you can only display 1 EDD on the Product page).
Click Add rule to add multiple shipping rules.
Note: The shipping method is the setting from Shopify, which we will fetch from your Shopify settings.
Custom shipping rules - You can set up custom rules for EDD on specific products and product types, such as adding extra time for processing and handling.

Click Add rule under Custom shipping rules to open the setting page.
Choose your Rule name, the orders they will be applicable to, and an action.
Actions include 2 settings: Shipping method (Same as default rule) and Shipping time (Choose Extra processing time or Carrier pickup date).
Click Add action to let a custom rule apply to multiple conditions.
You can easily delete a condition/option by clicking the Delete button.
You can enable/disable each custom rule by clicking the button at the top right.
Note: Simply drag and drop to set the priorities of the different custom rules.

You can choose how you want to show the dates on the page: Single date or Date range
Shipping rules
All the rules that you set up under the Shipping rules above will be applicable here.
Location
You can copy and paste the Shopify embed code to add EDDs to your page.
For the Product page EDD, we allow 2 types of methods:
Copy the code with Shopify liquid
Enable directly with the Shopify extension
How to paste the code in your Shopify store using the Shopify liquid method
Click Copy code on the AEDD editor page
Go to Shopify admin > Online store > Themes > Edit code
Search `main-product` file in Theme liquid
Find `product-form-installment-` and paste the code under it
Click Save to display the EDD on the product page
How to paste the code in your Shopify store using the Shopify extension method
Click Copy code on the AEDD editor page
Go to Shopify admin > Online store > Themes > Customize
Go to Default product page > Product information > Add block
Find AI Predictive EDD and move it by drag and drop
Click Save to display the EDD on the product page
