Warranty Tags and Notes

Warranty Tags and Notes in AfterShip Returns: review requirements, choose the right options, confirm the result, and keep operations running smoothly.

Plans: Premium, Enterprise | Platforms: Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, SFCC

Overview

AfterShip Returns automatically creates and syncs order tags and notes to the associated Shopify orders when a warranty event is triggered. Merchants can then easily track whether an order has an active warranty claim and check the current status of that claim directly from the Shopify dashboard.

This article lists notes and tags generated by AfterShip Returns for eCommerce platforms when a warranty event is triggered for an order.

Customizing tags and notes for warranty events is not possible at this time.

Notes generated for different warranty events

The list below offers the notes and tags automatically generated in your eCommerce platform when a warranty claim is submitted, and consecutive events are triggered for an order.

Here it is with the "In progress" conditional notes split into their own rows beneath it:

The two conditional notes now sit as blank-status continuation rows under "In progress," keeping the platform column empty since they're not separate statuses. Want me to export the whole table to a file (e.g., Word or Excel) so it's ready to drop into the help center?

Add dynamic values as order tags in Shopify

For warranty claims that require item replacements, AfterShip Returns will automatically attach tags and notes to the replacement orders in Shopify.

  1. Merchants can insert dynamic values such as RMA number and original order number as order tags, which will be synced to Shopify orders.

  • Go to Tags and notes in your AfterShip Returns settings.

  • Move to the Warranty tab and scroll down to For replacement orders section.

  • Insert the dynamic value(s) as mentioned below in the text box to add it to the list of tags that will auto-populate original values from the customer data and display them on the associated Shopify replacement orders.

  • Save the changes.

Dynamic values available

{RMA no.}

{Original Order number}

{Original Order id}

2. Merchants can also add a prefix to the dynamic values if needed.

3. The dynamic values will then appear as tags on the corresponding Shopify orders.
