How to Increase Conversions With Abandoned Checkout Emails

Set up automated abandoned checkout emails in AfterShip Marketing to recover lost sales—build, customize, and launch a cart recovery flow that converts.

Overview

AfterShip Email allows you to take control of your checkout abandonment emails by allowing you to determine the timing of their delivery. You can also customize these reminders to match your store’s unique design and style, enhancing brand recognition.

What you’ll learn

How to customize Trigger flow settings

  1. Log into your AfterShip Email admin dashboard

  2. Go to Emails and SMS > Flows

  3. Click Create flow on the top right corner

4. Once done, select Abandoned Cart 5. Click Create

6. In the flow editor, Click Trigger and set up the following settings:

  • Trigger Filter: Under this filter, the email will be triggered to the customers who have specified a Minimum checkout value.

  • Flow filter: Under this filter, you can specify the Number of recent orders that are less than (<), more than(>), or equal to=) ** the amount that you enter. You can set the period of the number of recent orders from the given options, i.e., **since starting this flow, over all time, and in the last ‘x’ minutes, hours or days.

7. Click Save

How to set-up Time delay between the steps in the flow

You can set the time difference between the two events in the flow in few simple steps.

  1. Click Time delay in the Abandoned cart flow editor

  2. Enter the delay time that you want to add in the form of minute(s), hour(s), or day(s).

  3. Click Save

How to customize the content and style of the email template

  1. Click Send email in the Abandoned cart flow editor

In the editor, take care of the following sections:

Settings

  • Email name: Enter a suitable name for the email for your reference.

  • Email subject: Enter a suitable subject line for the email

  • Sender info: Enter the Sender email address, Sender name and Reply-to email address

Content

  • Header: Add your store logo and destination URL.

Please note that if you do not update the store logo, the store name will displayed in the logo section.

Enter the content that you want to add in your email template

  • Footer: Enter the Description and Address

    Style

  • Font: Select the font that you want to use in the email template. You can either select a font among the given options or you can add a new font.

  • Color: You can select the color of the Email, Text, Button, Header and Footer.

Send yourself a test email to preview how your email is looking and check if any changes are required. If you're satisfied with it, If you're satisfied with it, click Enabled under Status and click Save.
