How to Publish Pages Created via AfterShip Page Builder for Shopify Themes 2.0?

Overview

Shopify's theme store is popular among merchants because it offers a wide variety of themes to make their stores look attractive. To provide even more customization options, Shopify introduced themes 2.0. However, themes 1.0 offer better compatibility with apps like AfterShip Page Builder, which makes them easier to work with.

This article explains how to publish pages created via AfterShip Page Builder to your Shopify store.

Steps to publish your pages

Note: You don't need to make any changes to your home page. These steps only apply to other page types, such as collection pages, product pages, and blog posts.

  1. Publish your pages in AfterShip Page Builder.

  2. Go to your Shopify store's theme editor page and switch from the Home page view to the page type you want to update. For example, select the Blog posts section if you want to make your blog post page live.

  3. You will see options for your created pages in the format aftership.xxxxxxxx, where xxxxxxxx represents the first eight characters of your page URL.

For example, if your AfterShip Page Builder blog post page URL is https://admin.aftership.com/blog-post-page/editor2/cb853a03b56e472da8d66a5bd6abb18e, the option will appear as aftership.cb853a03. This helps you identify which option corresponds to which page.

  4. Select your page and click Save to finish the process.

  • If you wish to add your page created via AfterShip Page Builder to your Shopify store navigation, in your Shopify admin, go to Content > Menu > Add Menu item > Add label > Paste the URL of your blog page > Save.

Key information

  • Default product detail and default collection detail pages cannot be edited via AfterShip Page Builder. You can only modify them through your Shopify admin.

  • If you select the Specific products option while creating a product page, you will see an option in the aftership.xxxxxxxx format in the theme editor, and you'll need to follow the steps above. However, if you select the 'All products' option, you don't need to make any changes on the Shopify theme editor page, as your pages will go live automatically. The same applies to collection pages.
