AfterShip Returns Plan Updates

Written by Harneet Kaur

Starting 11th June, 2026, AfterShip Returns has updated to a three-plan structure: Essentials, Premium, and Enterprise. This article explains what changed, who the new plans apply to, and what it means for merchants who signed up before the change.

  • If you have created an account with AfterShip Returns before June 11, 2026, you are on a legacy plan. Your plan, pricing, and features stay exactly as they are.

  • Existing plan labels in our articles reflect the new structure, so they may not match what your plan includes. The sections below explain how to read them.

What Changed

On June 11, 2026, AfterShip Returns moved from four plans to three.

Essentials

Essentials

Pro

Premium

Premium

Enterprise

Enterprise

Three things changed:

  1. The Pro plan was removed. Every feature that was on Pro now sits on Essentials.

  2. Features moved down a tier. Features that were once exclusive to Premium or Enterprise are now available on lower plans. See Feature Changes by Plan.

  3. Enterprise became a single plan. Warranty management and POS integration used to be paid add-ons on top of an Enterprise contract. They are now included in the Enterprise base plan, and the separate uplift charges no longer apply.

  • Plan names did not change.

  • Quota tiers were added at the lower end of Essentials and Premium so you can start smaller and grow into a higher volume tier. For current pricing and quota options, see the AfterShip Returns pricing page.

What stayed the same

  • Essentials: Returns dashboard, branded returns portal, branded tracking page, email notifications, basic refunds and exchanges, and basic routing rules.

  • Premium: Shop Now, AI-powered exchanges, advanced analytics, webhooks, Return Care, fraud prevention, automatic cheapest carrier selection, and order editing.

  • Enterprise: Custom API rate limits, custom workflows and reporting, dedicated onboarding and CSM, enterprise-grade security and SLA support, non-standard contracts, organizational management, and custom platform integrations.

  • Carrier connections: Essentials includes 3, Premium includes 5, and Enterprise is unlimited.

  • Return Care: Return Care is a separate offering with its own pricing model. It is not part of this change.

Who the New Plans Apply To

The three-plan structure applies to:

  • Merchants who signed up for AfterShip Returns on or after June 11, 2026.

  • Legacy merchants who signed up for AfterShip Returns before June 11, 2026 but choose to move to one of the new plans.

If neither applies to you, you are on a legacy plan, and nothing about your account has changed.

What This Means for Existing Merchants

If you signed up before June 11, 2026, you are grandfathered. You do not need to take any action.

What

What happens

Your plan

You stay on your current plan, including Pro if that is what you have today.

Your pricing

Your current price stays the same.

Your features

Your feature access stays the same. Nothing was added or taken away.

Your setup

Your returns portal, rules, workflows, and integrations keep working as they are.

Your quota

Your current RMA quota stays the same.

The Pro plan is closed to new signups, but it continues to run for merchants already on it.

Can I Use the New Plan Features on My Legacy Plan?

Not automatically. Feature access follows the plan you are on, so a feature that moved to a lower tier under the new structure is still gated at its original tier on legacy plans.

For example, blocklists and allowlists are available on Essentials and above under the new structure. On legacy plans, they remain a Pro and above feature. If you are a legacy Essentials merchant, you will see an upgrade prompt when you open that setting.

To use a feature that is not included in your legacy plan, move to one of the new plans. See How to Check Your Plan and Move to a New Plan.

How to read plan requirements in our help articles

Every AfterShip Returns help article lists the plan requirements for the new three-plan structure. If you are on a legacy plan, use these steps instead:

  1. Find the feature in Feature Changes by Plan.

  2. Check the Old plan column. That is the requirement that applies to your account.

  3. If the feature is not listed in those tables, the plan requirement in the article applies to you as well, because the feature did not move.

If you are not sure, contact our support team, and we will confirm what your plan includes.

How to Check Your Plan and Move to a New Plan

Check your current plan

  1. Sign in to your AfterShip Returns admin.

  2. Go to Settings > Billing.

  3. Review your plan name and RMA quota under Current plan.

If your plan shows Pro, you are on a legacy plan.

Move to a new plan

Moving to a new plan is optional. Consider it when you need a feature that your legacy plan does not include, or when you are close to your current RMA quota.

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.

  2. Select Upgrade now.

  3. Compare the Essentials, Premium, and Enterprise plans, then select the one you want.

  4. Confirm the change.

  • When you move to a new plan, you take on that plan's pricing and features, and you cannot return to your legacy plan. Review the feature tables above before you confirm.

  • For Enterprise plans, or if you want help choosing, contact your Customer Success Manager or our support team.

FAQs

1. Do I have to move to a new plan?

No. You keep your current plan, pricing, and features for as long as you stay on them.

2. I am on the Pro plan. What happens to it?

Pro is closed to new signups, but your Pro plan continues to work as it does today. Your features and pricing do not change.

3. A help article says a feature is available on my plan, but I cannot use it. Why?

Help articles list the plan requirements for the new three-plan structure. On legacy plans, the feature may still sit on a higher tier. Check the Old plan column in Feature Changes by Plan to see the requirement that applies to your account.

4. Will my price change?

No. Your price stays the same unless you choose to move to a new plan.

5. Can I move back to my legacy plan after upgrading?

No. Once you move to a new plan, your legacy plan is no longer available to you.

6. Does this change affect Return Care?

No. Return Care is a separate offering with its own pricing model.

7. I am an Enterprise merchant paying an uplift for Warranty or POS. What happens at renewal?

Warranty management and POS integration are now included in the Enterprise base plan. Contact your Customer Success Manager to review your contract.

8. Where can I see current pricing?
