How to Print Order Packing Slips

Print Order Packing Slips in AfterShip Shipping: follow setup steps, configure key options, verify behavior, and troubleshoot workflow issues.

Plans: All plans | Platforms: All platforms

Overview

A packing slip is the document that travels inside the parcel. It lists everything the shipment contains, which gives your warehouse team a pick list and gives your customer a way to check the delivery against what was ordered.

In AfterShip Shipping, there are two entry points from where you can print your packing slips.

  1. The Print menu in the action bar of a Fulfillments list, and

  2. More actions on a shipment's details page.

Printing while you review or fix a single shipment

Print is available on Awaiting shipment, Shipped, and On hold submenus, so you can produce a slip before a label exists, reprint one after the parcel has shipped, or print for a shipment you have paused. It is not available on a Canceled submenu.

Print packing slips

1. Fulfillment lists

  1. In the left navigation, select Fulfillments, then open the submenu you need.

  2. Narrow the list if it helps. Use the View tabs, the Search bar, Bulk search, or Add filters to bring the right shipments together.

  3. Select the checkbox on each shipment you want, or select the header checkbox to select everything on the page.

  4. In the action bar, select Print, then select Print packing slip.

  5. Review the preview. When you select several shipments, the preview holds a packing slip for each one, so you can send the whole batch to your printer in a single job.

  6. Print the slips and pack them with their parcels.

2. Shipment's details page

Use this route when you are already working on a single shipment, or when you want to confirm the shipment details before the slip prints.

  1. Select a shipment in any list to open its details page.

  2. Check the Addresses card. The Ship-from address prints on the packing slip, so make sure it reflects the location the parcel actually leaves from. Select the edit icon on either address card to correct it.

  3. Check the Items card to confirm the products and quantities are right.

  4. Select More actions at the top right, then select Print packing slip.

  5. Review the preview, then print based on your needs.

To add more ship-from locations for use on packing slips and labels, see Manage Ship-From Locations.

Things to know

  • The ship-from address prints as it is set on the shipment, not as your default location. Confirm it on shipments you have edited or imported.

  • Each shipment produces its own packing slip. An order split across locations produces one slip per parcel.

  • Packing slips reflect the shipment at the moment you print. If you change items or addresses afterward, print a fresh slip.
