Overview

AfterShip has unified the domain experience across all branded pages, streamlining how domains are managed and used across different products within your organization.

  1. Centralized domain management: Domain settings have been moved to the Organization settings. This allows for centralized management of domains that can be used across various branded pages, such as tracking, returns, protection, and warranty.

  2. Branded pages on a single domain: Shoppers can now access different branded pages using the same domain, differentiated by specific paths. For example, with a single domain, luxe.aftership.com, you can have:

  • luxe.aftership.com/tracking → Tracking page

  • luxe.aftership.com/returns → Returns page

  • luxe.aftership.com/warranty → Warranty page

  • luxe.aftership.com/protection → Protection page

Domains management in Organization settings

A new Domains tab has been introduced in the Organization settings. This is where merchants can manage all the domains linked to branded pages across different product lines.

Domain management is split into two sections:

  • Default domain

  • Custom domain

Domains set up under AfterShip Organization settings

Default domain

When a new organization is created, a default domain is automatically set up, following the format {org.short_name}.aftership.com. For example: luxe.aftership.com.

Each branded page has a default path associated with it. For example:

  • luxe.aftership.com/tracking → tracking page

  • luxe.aftership.com/returns → returns page

  • luxe.aftership.com/warranty → warranty page

  • luxe.aftership.com/protection → protection page

Merchants can choose to set the root path ( /) to redirect to a specific page. For example, visitors to luxe.aftership.com can be automatically redirected to the tracking page or another branded page.

Custom domain

For enhanced brand visibility, merchants can set up a custom domain for their branded pages, such as shopper.luxe.com. This allows for paths like:

  • shopper.luxe.com/tracking → tracking page

  • shopper.luxe.com/returns → returns page

  • shopper.luxe.com/warranty → warranty page

  • shopper.luxe.com/protection → protection page

For more information on setting up a custom domain, refer to the Unified Domain: Set up a Custom Domain for Branded Pages guide.

The root path ( /) behaves similarly to the default domain. The key difference is that custom domains offer more flexibility, allowing specific paths for different products. For example, you can have:

  • returns.dyson.com for Returns submission.

  • tracking.luxe.com for Tracking shipments.

Add custom domain

Supported plans

  • Customers on Premium plan of any product can add only 1 custom domain.

  • Customers on Enterprise plan of any product can add up to 5 custom domains.

Domains migration for existing organizations

No changes are required on the merchant side unless they update their domain settings.
