How to Change, Upgrade, or Downgrade Your AfterShip Plan

Learn how to upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your AfterShip subscription plan. Step-by-step guides for Stripe and Shopify billing users.

Need to access more advanced features or adjust your AfterShip Returns plan to fit your business needs? You can easily upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time, whether you’re billed via AfterShip (Stripe) or Shopify.

Upgrade your plan (AfterShip Billing Users)

AfterShip billing users are the ones using Stripe for payment processing.

  1. Go to Billing in your AfterShip Returns settings.

    • You can view your current plan, usage quota, and billing cycle details in the Current plan section.

  2. Select Upgrade now to open the comparison table of AfterShip Returns plans.

  3. Choose the desired plan and click Choose {plan}.

  4. A confirmation window will appear showing the new plan details. Review the information, then click Upgrade plan to finalize the upgrade.

Downgrade your plan (AfterShip Billing Users)

  1. Go to Billing in your AfterShip Returns settings.

    • You can view your current plan, usage quota, and billing cycle details in the Current plan section.

  2. Click the (....) icon, then Downgrade to open the comparison table of AfterShip Returns plans.

  3. Choose the desired plan to downgrade to and click Choose {plan}.

  4. A confirmation window will appear showing the new plan details. Review the information, then click Downgrade plan to finalize the upgrade.

Upgrade your plan (Shopify billing users)

If your AfterShip account is connected to Shopify, your subscription is managed through your Shopify billing.

  1. Go to Billing in your AfterShip Returns settings. You can view your current plan, usage quota, and billing cycle details in the Current plan section.

  2. Select Upgrade now to open the comparison table of AfterShip Returns plans.

  3. Choose the desired plan and click Choose {plan}.

  4. Click Confirm and you will be directed to your Shopify store.

  5. Click Approve subscription.

  6. You’ll be redirected back to AfterShip, and your new plan will be activated.

Downgrade your plan (Shopify billing users)

  1. Go to Billing in your AfterShip Returns settings. You can view your current plan, usage quota, and billing cycle details in the Current plan section.

  2. Click the (....) icon, then Downgrade to open the comparison table of AfterShip Returns plans.

  3. Choose the desired plan and click Choose {plan}.

  4. Click Confirm and you will be directed to your Shopify store.

  5. Click Approve subscription.

  6. You’ll be redirected back to AfterShip, and your new plan will be activated.

  • Note: The free plan is also available as a downgrade option in the plan comparison table.

FAQs

Q. Will I retain access to my data after downgrading to the free plan?

You will still have access to your previous returns data after downgrading to the free plan. As an additional safeguard, you can export your data to a CSV file before making the change.

Q. When does an upgrade take effect?

Upgrades are applied immediately after confirmation. You’ll gain access to new features and return limits right away.

Q. When does a downgrade take effect?

Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing cycle. You’ll continue to use your current plan until the current cycle ends.

Q. How long is each billing cycle?

Each billing cycle lasts 30 days.

Q. How to upgrade from a Free Plan to a Paid Plan?

  1. Go to the Home page of the AfterShip Returns admin.

  2. Click Upgrade Now > choose a desired paid plan.

  3. Confirm plan and add payment details.

  4. Click Upgrade Plan.

Q. Can I test the plan features before purchasing?

Q. How can I upgrade to the Enterprise plan?

Yes. A single AfterShip subscription can be used for multiple platforms. You can connect multiple stores from different platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, and others under the same AfterShip account.

  • Review usage regularly: Check your returns quota and feature needs before upgrading.

  • Set renewal reminders: Keep track of billing dates to avoid interruptions.

  • Consolidate accounts: If you manage multiple stores, link them under one AfterShip account for easier management.

  • Export your data before downgrading: If you're downgrading to a free plan, consider exporting your returns data to a CSV file as a precaution.
