Overview
This article outlines installing and integrating the AfterShip Returns and exchanges app with Shopify POS. The setup process begins by accessing the POS App Settings in the Shopify admin, where the app appears under the Sales channels once installed. Users then add the app to the POS Smart Grid, with a recommendation to place it on the Order Details screen for optimal handling of exchanges, payments, and fulfillments. The final step is restarting the Shopify POS app to complete the integration, after which the AfterShip Returns app will be visible on both the Home and Order Details views.
Step 1: Access POS app settings
Once the POS app is installed for your Shopify store, AfterShip Returns will appear under the Sales channels section in the Shopify admin.
Navigate to Point of Sale > Settings > POS Apps.
Review the list of installed apps that are supported on Shopify POS.
Step 2: Add AfterShip Returns to the POS App Smart Grid
Add the AfterShip Returns and exchanges app to the POS App Smart Grid under both the Home and Order details sections.
⚠️
To process exchange requests through AfterShip, we recommend adding the app only to the Order Details page. This is because AfterShip relies on the Order Details view to handle payment collection and fulfillments.
Step 3: Restart the Shopify POS App
On your Shopify POS device, restart the POS app. Once restarted, you’ll see the AfterShip Returns app integrated into both the Home screen and the Order Details view.
