Customers always expect brands to tell estimated order delivery date so that they don't have to seek support unnecessarily. Plus, it allows them to manage their plans in a way that lets them receive the delivery of their orders without any miss.

AfterShip, besides lettings its users set the promised delivery date, shows on-time shipment reports so that you can easily check whether orders will be delivered as per the estimated delivery time or not.

➡️ Steps to check on-time shipment report

Please be informed that Pro and Enterprise plan users are eligible to check on-time shipment report. So, upgrade your plan if required :)
Navigate to the Analytics tab in your AfterShip account and click on the 2nd option, i.e. “On-time shipment”

You'll see data based on the default settings, so set the filters according to your preference to see the desired results

Let’s understand on-time shipment analytics of AfterShip:

❖ Customizable filters to slice and dice reports


Date range: Define the period for which you check the on-time shipment data

Couriers: Select the couriers for which you would like to view the shipment delivery time data

Origin country: Choose the countries (from where shipments are dispatched) for more precise results

Destination country: Select the countries (where shipments are meant to be delivered) to see accurate on-time delivery data

❖ A status bar to quickly check the progress of your shipments

Right after the filters, you will a status bar that tells you how many shipments are likely to customers on time. It has key metrics to offer you valuable insights. Here's how it looks:


On-time rate: It tells you about the success rate of delivering shipments on time. To calculate the data, your on-time shipments gets divided by the total no. of shipments


Late shipment(s): It tells you the first delivery attempt has been made after the estimated delivery date. Simply put, you see the total number of your late shipments here

Overdue shipment(s): It shows those shipments that are due for the first delivery attempt, even after passing the estimated delivery date

Shipments with EDD: It informs you about how many of your shipments have an estimated delivery date. To calculate the data, the number of shipments (having EDD) gets divided by the total no. of shipments


❖ Detail-oriented reports

On-time shipments over time: It tells you the progress of your shipments over time. It shows data for 5 different shipment statuses: 'On-time,' 'Trending on-time,' 'Late,' 'Trending late,' and 'Overdue'

'Trending on-time' status means the shipment has new estimated delivery date (earlier than the original EDD), while 'Trending late' status signifies opposite of this.

On-time status distribution: It's self-explanatory. It gives you clarity by informing you about how many shipments are 'On-time,' 'Trending on-time,' 'Late,' 'Trending late,' and 'Overdue'


Delivery performance: It sheds light on the shipment delivery performance. You can easily check how many shipments have been delivered early, late, and on time


On-time shipment by lane: It shows how many shipments are likely to reach on time based on their origin and destination country. This would be very helpful if you ship globally, as you can identify those countries where your shipments struggle to reach timely after being dispatched from a specific location. With better clarity, you will be able to share more accurate order delivery date with customers

Note: You can export the data in the CSV format after clicking on 'View details'.


On-time shipments by carrier services: It tells you how well your selected carriers are performing while delivering shipments. Of. course, it will let you choose other carriers if one or two are not living up to your expectations

Note: You can check the delivery performance of all carriers by simply clicking on 'View details' and export the data (in the CSV format) as well.


➡️ Important info to keep in mind

If the EDD is not provided by the courier, on-time shipment data will be calculated based on the promised delivery date (PDD) settings configured by you

Data accuracy and efficiency relies on the number of shipments having an estimated delivery date

For shipments with no EDD, you would be first asked to set up the promised delivery date
