Overview

Discounted labels let you access shipping rates negotiated by Easyship and generate shipping labels directly from AfterShip Shipping. You can enable supported carriers and services, purchase labels, and manage your shipping workflow without purchasing a separate Easyship subscription or managing a separate Easyship login.

Easyship is AfterShip's shipping partner for Discounted labels. It provides the underlying label service, negotiates carrier rates, processes label payments, and bills you directly for the labels you purchase.

Benefits

  • Access discounted carrier rates: Use rates negotiated by Easyship and generate labels directly within AfterShip Shipping.

  • No separate Easyship subscription: You pay for the labels you purchase through Discounted labels. You do not need to purchase an Easyship subscription.

  • No separate Easyship login: AfterShip creates a dedicated Easyship account as part of setup. This account cannot be used to sign in to the standalone Easyship shipping platform.

  • Access multiple carriers and services: Enable supported carriers and services from Easyship's network directly in AfterShip Shipping.

  • Manage everything in AfterShip: Set up Discounted labels and use the enabled services without switching to another shipping platform.

💡 Key benefit

You do not need a separate Easyship subscription or standalone Easyship login to use Discounted labels. AfterShip creates a dedicated Easyship account for the service, but you manage Discounted labels within AfterShip Shipping.

Who powers Discounted labels?

Discounted labels is powered by Easyship, AfterShip's shipping partner.

  • Easyship negotiates discounted rates with carriers, generates labels, processes label payments, bills you directly for labels you purchase, and issues your invoices.

  • AfterShip provides the dashboard where you manage shipments or returns and the integrations that connect your store to the shipping workflow.

AfterShip and Easyship are separate companies. Easyship is the provider and billing party for the labels you purchase through Discounted labels.

About your information: Information required to provide the label service is shared with Easyship and processed under Easyship's applicable terms. Review and accept Easyship's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy during setup.

How Discounted labels works

When you enable Discounted labels in AfterShip Shipping:

  1. Choose the carrier services you want to use to generate shipping labels.

  2. Provide your basic information to be shared with Easyship.

  3. Review and accept Easyship's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

  4. Add a payment method.

  5. Complete setup and start purchasing labels through AfterShip Shipping.

  • As part of setup, AfterShip creates a dedicated Easyship account for the Discounted labels service. You do not need to complete a separate Easyship registration or purchase an Easyship subscription.

  • The dedicated account is not intended for standalone Easyship portal access and cannot be used to sign in to the standalone Easyship shipping platform. You manage Discounted labels within AfterShip Shipping.

Set up Discounted labels

Step 1: Access Discounted labels

  1. Go to Carriers > Carrier accounts in your AfterShip Shipping admin.

  2. In the Carrier accounts and services section, find Discounted labels

  3. Click Get started.

Existing standalone Easyship accounts created outside AfterShip are not supported for this integration. Discounted labels creates and uses a dedicated Easyship account through AfterShip.

Step 2: Complete the 3-step Easyship account setup

1. Select carriers and services

After you select Get started, select the carriers and services you want to use.

  • AfterShip may recommend carrier services based on your organization's country. To change the Ship-from country/region, expand the dropdown and select the country or region you want to use.

  • You can accept the recommended services or select different carriers and services. For each recommended carrier service, you’ll see the estimated discount percentage and shipping rate.

Note: The displayed shipping rates are minimum estimated rates and may vary based on package size, dimensions, weight, and other shipping details.

  • Your enabled carrier services will be available when you create shipping labels in AfterShip Shipping.

  • You can update your enabled carriers and services at any time from the Discounted Labels account settings page.

2. Complete basic information

After selecting the carrier services, complete the following steps:

  1. Contact information: Provide your contact and company details.

  2. Billing information: Enter your company billing address.

    • Easyship validates your address and payment information during setup.

    • Make sure your billing address is complete and accurate. For example, Hong Kong addresses must include a district name.

    • Review and accept Easyship's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

3. Add payment method

  1. Add a credit card for billing. If the card is declined, you will remain on this step and will see a decline error.

  2. Click Continue to create your account.

  • After setup, a dedicated Easyship account is created for the Discounted labels. You do not need to create another Easyship account or purchase an Easyship subscription.

  • AfterShip does not charge or collect payment for the labels. Easyship bills you directly for the labels you purchase and issues the related invoices.

Step 3: Manage payments

In the Payment information section of the Discounted labels, you can manage the following:

  • Account balance: View your current Easyship credit balance.

  • Add credits: Once the Easyship account is active, click the Add Credits button under the AfterShip Discounted labels section to add credits as needed.

  • Auto-recharge: Auto-recharge is disabled by default. You can enable it and set a recharge threshold and amount to ensure uninterrupted label generation.

  • Payment method: View or update the credit card linked to your account as required.

  • Request refund: Submit a refund request for eligible credits.

Important: Credits and charges here are billed directly by Easyship. AfterShip doesn't process or collect this payment. If your Easyship account balance is insufficient, label generation will fail. We strongly recommend adding credits and enabling auto-recharge for a smoother operational experience.

Step 4: Manage account details

Once your account is active, go to Edit Discounted labels to manage your carrier and service selections. From this page, you can also:

  • View your Account ID

  • View and edit your profile details.

Changing your origin country/region is not allowed once selected.

  • Update your carrier and service selections from the Carriers and services section as required.

  • View shipping rates to be redirected to the Easyship Rates Calculator, where you can compare available shipping options and costs.

Billing and invoices

You do not need to pay a separate Easyship subscription fee to use Discounted labels through AfterShip Shipping.

When you purchase a shipping label:

  • Easyship charges your payment method directly.

  • Easyship issues the invoice for the label.

  • You pay for the labels you purchase rather than for a separate Easyship subscription.

  • AfterShip does not charge a separate fee for enabling or using Discounted labels.

  • If you see an Easyship charge or invoice after purchasing a label, it relates to the underlying label service provided by Easyship. It is not a separate Easyship subscription charge.

  1. To view receipts, invoices, credit notes, and transactions related to your account, click Edit Discounted labels > Billing.

  2. Adjust the record type and the generation date to narrow down data for your search.

Use Discounted labels to create shipping labels

  • Once you enable carrier services through Discounted labels, they appear in the Carrier service > Select service dropdown when you create a shipping label.

  • Easyship-backed services and discounted rates will be labelled as Discounted labels.

  • Select the service that best meets your shipping requirements and continue creating your label in AfterShip Shipping.
