Phone Number Verification
Overview
Phone number verification adds an extra layer of security to your AfterShip account. While optional in most cases, some features and actions may require a verified phone number to continue. You can verify your phone number from your account settings at any time.
In certain situations, AfterShip may require phone number verification to ensure account eligibility and help prevent malicious activity. For example, Shipping users may be prompted to verify their phone number before they can add a carrier.

Where to verify your phone number
- Go to Manage Profile > Profile in your AfterShip Tracking admin
- Click Verify number
- Follow the on-screen instructions
Verification methods
AfterShip supports two phone number verification methods. The available method may depend on your country or SMS delivery conditions.
Method 1: Verify via SMS code (OTP)
This is the default verification method.
Steps
- Click Verify number.
- Enter your phone number and click Send code.
- A one-time verification code (OTP) will be sent to your phone via SMS.
- Enter the code within 10 minutes to complete verification.

Can’t receive the SMS code?
The same verification code remains valid for 10 minutes. If you don’t receive the code, try the following steps before requesting another one:
- Make sure your mobile phone is not turned off or in a suspended state. If your phone is still in use, we recommend recharging your phone credit before attempting the operation.
- Check whether you have a signal.
- Check if your phone is in airplane mode. If it is, turn it off.
- Check whether the message is being auto-deleted or blocked.
- Clear your phone’s inbox to free up memory space.
- Restart your phone to ensure proper SMS reception.
- If you still can’t receive messages after performing the steps above, try removing and reinserting the SIM card.
Important: Repeatedly resending verification codes may trigger a temporary limit. If the limit is reached, please try again the next day.
If you still can’t receive the SMS, use Method 2 below.
Method 2: Verify by sending an SMS to AfterShip
Phone numbers from certain countries (such as China (CHN) and Philippines (PHL)) must be verified using Method 2.
If you’re unable to receive verification codes via SMS, you can complete phone number verification by sending an SMS to AfterShip instead.
- You can manually switch to this method during the verification process.
- In some cases, we’ll automatically recommend this method if SMS delivery issues are detected.
How it works
- Confirm your phone number in the verification popup.
- Using the same phone number, send an SMS exactly as instructed in the popup.
- After sending the message, click I’ve sent.
- Once AfterShip receives your SMS, your phone number will be verified automatically. This may take a few moments.

Notes
- The SMS must be sent from the same phone number you entered for verification.
- Standard SMS charges may apply depending on your carrier.
- If the message fails to send, check your signal and credit balance, then try again.
- Each verification attempt is valid for 10 minutes.
